$3,000 stolen in money card scam

Elberton Police are investigating a money card scam that resulted in the theft of $3,000 from the Save-A-Lot supermarket on Elbert Street last Thursday night.
Police Sgt. Scott Marunich said the scam artists convinced the store’s night shift manager they were from the corporate office and directed the manager to hand over the money cards.
Marunich said at least one other Save-A-Lot store in another state has been victimized by the scam.
