American Kid Kenny Chesney Celebrates America’s Birthday on NBC

Jill Trunnell/KC Productions/NBCHe had a huge hit with “American Kids” summer before last, and this Independence Day, Kenny Chesney wants to be part of your patriotic celebration. He’ll perform on Macy’s 4th of July Spectacular, along with Australian rockers 5 Seconds of Summer and pop star Meghan Trainor. In addition to her own growing repertoire of hits, you might recall she also co-wrote Rascal Flatts’ latest #1, “I Like the Sound of That.”

Today’s Willie Geist and Tamron Hall will host the 40th annual celebration at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. Also on the bill -- Broadway legend Jennifer Holliday, the United States Air Force Band and the Radio City Rockettes.
