Carrie Underwood returns this fall for her sixth season as the voice of NBC’s Sunday Night Football. The “Cry Pretty” hitmaker’s already filmed this year’s opening sequence, along with ten of the NFL’s top players.
Super Bowl champions Carson Wentz, Lane Johnson, Zach Ertz, and Fletcher Cox from the Philadelphia Eagles will join her, along with six others: the Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott, Los Angeles Rams’ Jared Goff, Minnesota Vikings’ Kirk Cousins, New York Giants’ Saquon Barkley, Pittsburgh Steelers’ Antonio Brown, and Seattle Seahawks’ Russell Wilson.
We should get our first look at the new open on Thursday, September 6 during the NFL Kickoff, as the Philadelphia Eagles take on the Atlanta Falcons. The first regular Sunday Night Football game follows on September 9, as the Chicago Bears play the Green Bay Packers.
In recent years, Carrie’s opening song has been “Oh, Sunday Night,” which is a variation on her hit with Miranda Lambert, “Somethin’ Bad.”
