Warner Music NashvilleWith two number-ones in row under their belts, Dan+Shay admit it can be hard to decide which song to release to radio next. But Dan Smyers says the duo turned to some familiar allies to pick the follow-up to "Nothin' Like You" and "From the Ground Up."
"It's tough man! We always listen to our fans. You know, our fans kinda named this album for us, the Obsessed album title. We always look on social media and we look out to the crowd to see what the fans are singing the loudest and getting the most fired up about. It's a song called 'How Not To' that's on our album," Dan reveals.
The second single from Dan+Shay's sophomore record also holds a unique distinction among their radio singles so far.
"It's the first song we're releasing that we didn't write," Dan points out. "You know, we're such fans of the songwriting community, and to be in a position now where we can record songs that other people wrote and to have them trust us with it, you know that's a dream come true for us. That's why we moved to this town, you know, to be a part of the songwriting community. And to record a song that we fell in love with when we heard the demo is gonna be a fun ride. It's a little different for us!"
Earlier this week, Dan+Shay wrapped up their run of four sold-out shows in the United Kingdom. Look for them on Jimmy Kimmel Live next Wednesday.
