Elberton Police investigating home burglary

Elberton Police are investigating a burglary that reportedly took place between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence on Kathwood Drive. Officers said the home’s front door frame was damaged, and a gas powered leaf blower and clothing valued at a total of $150 was reported stolen.

Elberton Police make felony drug arrest

A 40-year-old Elberton man faces felony drug charges after he was arrested Sunday by Elberton Police outside the Salvation Army building on North McIntosh Street. Tony Lewis Hunt of a Hartwell Highway address is charged with possession of Schedule II drugs. The arrest was made just after 6:30 p.m., according to the police report.
