Comer Police Make Drug Arrest Saturday

On Saturday night, June 10th Officers with the Comer Police Department conducted a sobriety safety road check point at Hwy 72 West Bypass and the Hwy 72 Spur.
Gregory Chad Stewart of Winterville Ga, was found to be in possession of a quantity of Liquid Methamphetamine, a quantity of Crystal Methamphetamine, a quantity of Mirtazapine pills, a quantity of Zolpidem pills, numerous digital scales and syringes and other drug related objects. When officers began to make contact with Stewart he began ripping open plastic baggies inside the car and on his person and started tossing them. Stewart was driving the vehicle. After running Stewarts name and DOB it was discovered that his Georgia drivers license were suspended for Child Support Obligations.

The female passenger, Kristen Marie Waldrup of Athens Ga, was found to have 2 out standing arrest warrants.

Gregory Chad Stewart of Winterville Ga, was arrested for:
Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
Possession of Drug Related Objects
Tampering with Evidence – Felony
Possession of a Dangerous Drug – Mirtazapine
Possession of Schedule 4 Controlled Substance
Driving While License Suspended
Prescription Pills not in the Original Container

Kristen Marie Waldrup W/F of Athens Ga, was arrested on the 2 outstanding arrest warrants:
Failure to Appear – Comer Municipal Court
Probation Violation-Misdemeanor – Madison County
