According to Hart County Sheriff Mike Cleveland, 37 year old William James Wood, also known as BJ Woods, of Fair Play, South Carolina, was arrested and booked into the Gaston County, NC, Jail Saturday morning for possessing a stolen vehicle and stolen license plates after being arrested by the Belmont, NC, Police Department.

“It’s my understanding that he came through a road check with a stolen tag, a North Carolina tag on a stolen van that he stole here. He then gave them a false name, had cocaine and drug paraphernalia, so he’s got multiple charges out there.”

Aside from the North Carolina Charges, Woods faces multiple charges in Georgia and South Carolina as well…

“Well armed robbery of course, along with South Carolina, they’ve got two different incidents of armed robbery involving him over there. Both States carry pretty stiff sentences, several years.”

There is no time frame yet for Woods to be extradited back to Georgia…

“He will, but he’ll have to make bond up there first and he has those charges up there so we don’t have any idea when we will get our hands on him.”

Woods will also face extradition to Anderson County, South Carolina.
