Dolly Parton Eyes Her First #1 Album in 25 Years with "Pure & Simple"

Dolly Records/RCA NashvilleIt’s been a big week for Dolly Parton! Her latest album, Pure & Simple, is expected to debut at number one on the country albums chart, according to Billboard, with first-week sales anticipated at around twenty-thousand.

This would be the first time the Country Music Hall of Famer has topped the albums tally since 1991’s Eagle When She Flies. Dolly’s most recent effort, Blue Smoke, debuted at number-two in 2014.

The entertainment icon wrote and produced Pure & Simple herself, focusing on stripped-down arrangements of straight-ahead love songs. It’s available in multiple versions, with exclusive editions with extra songs at both Walmart and Cracker Barrel.
