Dolly Parton Reveals "Pure & Simple" Release Date, Track List

Sony Music NashvilleWe’ve known for a while that it was coming.  Now we’ve got a release date for Dolly Parton’s new album, Pure & Simple.  The legendary entertainer’s 43rd studio effort, which she also produced, will hit retailers August 19, though you can pre-order it from the usual outlets beginning Friday.

“I may not be pure, but I’m as simple as they come!” Dolly says in a statement.  “This new Pure & Simple project is really special to me because I’m taking my fans back to my roots. I feel like these songs have a pure, tender side and we didn’t go overboard with arrangements.”

No doubt Dolly will preview some of her new songs from the album when she kicks off the second part of her summer tour July 19 in Cedar Rapids Iowa.  You can get the full tour itinerary at
