Elbert County Sheriff Melvin Andrews has reported the sheriff’s department has been able to solve several burglaries which have occurred recently in the county, arresting three people and adding additional charges to one individual who was already in jail on other charges.
Anthony Joseph Stair, aka Anthony Reid, 20, of 261 S. Broad St., was charged with second degree burglary, five counts of theft by taking, four counts of entering an automobile to commit theft and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Stair, who was booked on the additional charges while incarcerated at the Elbert County Detention Center on charges of first degree burglary, criminal trespass, theft by deception, felony probation violation, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug-related objects after deputies served an active warrant on Stair.
Kyle Austin Stewart, 17, of a Reese Street address, was arrested and charged with first degree burglary, second degree burglary, four counts of felony theft by taking, two counts of entering an automobile to commit theft and criminal trespass.
Stair and Stewart have both been linked to burglary and entering an automobile incidents which were reported on Double Bridges Road. Stair has also been linked to incidents reported on Fairway Drive.
Kevin Mathews McDaniel, 32; of a Nowhere Road address, was arrested and charged with two counts of first degree burglary, second degree burglary, two counts of criminal trespass, felony theft by taking and theft by deception; and Ruth Ann McCaine, 35, also of a Nowhere Road address, was arrested on Feb. 1 and charged with first degree burglary, felony theft by taking, two counts of criminal trespass and theft by deception in connection with with recent burglaries and theft by taking incidents which were reported on Bowman Highway and Nowhere Road.
