On Sunday January 7, 2018, Elbert County Sheriffs Office received a complaint of a missing person. The Complainant stated Mr. Otha Perrin, age 86 apparently had walked away or someone had picked him up due to his car still being at his residence.
On Monday morning January 8, 2018 the Investigation turned from a missing person incident to a homicide investigation when Mr. Perrin’s body was recovered from a farm pond in Elbert County. The Elbert County Coroner’s Office, State Probation Office, Clarke County Police Dept. and Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is assisting Elbert County Sheriffs Office in Investigation.
Three subjects are currently being held at the Elbert County Detention Center in connection to Investigation at this time. Elbert County Sheriffs Office, Elbert County Coroner’s Office and Northern Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is still investigating this Homicide. Mr. Perrin’s body has been sent to crime lab for autopsy. More information will be released later as investigation continues by the above authorities.
