Flood Watch for Elbert County Extended through Friday

image11The flood watch issued for Elberton and northeast Georgia has now been extended through Friday evening. Flood waters threaten to break a dam in Oconee County Georgia. Residents of the Briar Lake subdivision off Highway 316 in Oconee County are being urged to leave their homes or risk being stuck on the dead-end street if the small eaOconee-damrthen dam fails. There are 10 homes in the subdivision. Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry says no other homes or neighborhoods are threatened.
