Garth Brooks to host free soundcheck for University of Florida students

ABC RadioGarth Brooks' upcoming show in Florida is connected to a worthy cause.

The country superstar will host a soundcheck on Friday, April 19 that will be free to students attending University of Florida. After running through his set ahead of his show at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville the following night, Garth will host a Q&A with the students.

Meanwhile, faculty and staff will be able to purchase tickets to the soundcheck event, with all of the proceeds going toward the university's Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars program.  It provides scholarships to low-income students who are also the first to attend college in their families.

Garth hosted a similar event before his historic show at the University of Notre Dame in October 2018.

The April 20 show in Gainesville is part of Garth's 30-date stadium tour which began in March.
