Georgia loses out to Virginia on Security Training Facility

sec facilityGeorgia has officially lost out in its bid for a $416 million embassy security training facility. Fort Pickett in southern Virginia has been selected. Republicans in Georgia’s congressional delegation pushed hard for the Obama administration to expand the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glyn County to host the facility, arguing it would save hundreds of millions of dollars. But the administration said the Virginia site is more convenient to Washington DC.
