Jake Owen goes "Down to the Honkytonk" for his next hit

ABC RadioJake Owen’s headed “Down to the Honkytonk” for his new single.

The Florida native has previously revealed that his Life’s Whatcha Make It Tour takes its name from the tune, but unless you’ve seen Jake perform it live, you haven’t been able to hear it until now.

“I got friends in low places/yeah life is whatcha make it,” he sings in the first verse, with a tip of the hat to the Garth Brooks classic.

Later in the chorus, he reveals the song’s catchy hook: “I might not go down in history, but I go down to the honky tonk.”

Last weekend, Jake shot the video for “Down to the Honkytonk” on Lower Broadway in Nashville. You can stream or download the follow-up to the #1 “I Was Jack (You Were Diane)” now.
