Kenny Chesney’s Trip Around the Sun ranks with the tours of Timberlake, Taylor, Springsteen and more

Jill TrunnellKenny Chesney is the only country artist to land in the top ten, as Pollstar ranks the top tours so far this year. The “Get Along” hitmaker comes in fifth on the list, an impressive feat since his ticket prices are typically much lower than his contemporaries.

“What we do isn’t just country, it’s life,” he says of the ranking that finds him among the likes of Pink, the EaglesJustin TimberlakeTaylor SwiftU2Bruce Springsteen, and Bon Jovi.

“For the people who come every summer,” Kenny adds, “whether they love rock or pop or whatever, they’re gonna feel the music, but they also know they’ve lived these songs. For me, it’s the artists who rock me, who make me feel something, whose music is part of my life that I go back to again and again, and that’s what I try to give the fans every single night we hit the stage.”

This weekend, Kenny takes his Trip Around the Sun Tour to St. Louis, Missouri, before the release of his new album, Songs for the Saints, next Friday.
