Man loses end of nose in knife attack; woman arrested

Elbert County Sheriff Melvin Andrews has announced the arrest of an Elberton woman in connection with a knife attack reported to authorities just before 9 o’clock Monday morning.
Tanesha Ardister, age 26, of a Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, Elberton, address, faces one felony charge of aggravated assault, according to a sheriff’s investigator. Ardister and the victim, Sebastian Carpenter, were sitting in a parked car at a Willie White Drive residence when an argument ensued and Ardister allegedly assaulted Carpenter with a kitchen knife.
The end of Carpenter’s nose was cut off in the attack, according to investigators, and he also suffered a cut to the hand. He was transported by Elbert County EMS to Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
Ardister was being held at the Elbert County Detention Center on Monday afternoon.
