More Drug Busts From The Sheriff’s Office

The Elbert County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Bowman resident on drug charges as the result of an investigation of an individual selling drugs.
Johnny Teasley Byrum, 55, of 114 E. Church St. in Bowman was arrested on Aug. 16, 2017 and charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, three counts of drugs not in original container and distribution of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
The search resulted in the seizure of bags of crystal methamphetamine weighing 56.7 grams, 1.2 grams, 7 grams, 3.4 grams, and 1.5 grams. The total weight of the seized drugs was 2.46 ounces.
When field tested, the contents tested positive for cryatal methamphetamine.
