Nashville notes

Burke/Triolo Productions/Thinkstock Country-Music-Hall-of-Famer Jo Walker-Meador passed away Tuesday night in Nashville after a stroke. The 93-year-old began her career as the first paid employee of the Country Music Association:  she was the office manager. She went on to become CMA's longest-serving Executive Director.

Florida Georgia Line’s FGL House will host a Sungaze Rooftop Eclipse Party starting at 11 a.m. CT Monday in Nashville. Admission will be free, as will glasses to take in the eclipse. You’ll also be able to order a special “Get Your Shine On” cocktail from the bar.

Former Hot Chelle Rae frontman Ryan Follese surprised his fans by announcing his debut country album will come out this week. The self-titled effort will be available digitally on Friday.

Garth Brooks will bring his World Tour to Indianapolis, Indiana on Saturday, October 7. Tickets for the show with Trisha Yearwood go on sale Friday, August 25.
