Pilot who crash landed in Elbert County Returns to thank EMS,First Responders and Sheriff’s Department

Mr. Joe Hunt who survived a plane crash in Elbert County on April 25th of this year visits Elbert County Emergency Services on Friday afternoon to thank first Responders, Elbert County EMS and the Elbert County Sheriff’s Department for their assistance. Mr. Hunt reports that he is doing well after the incident. Mr. Hunt visited along with his brother Jon Hunt, a former Elberton newspaperman, to the EMS facility.

The plane crashed just before 2 p.m. Thursday April 25th in a wooded area off Brewers Bridge Road near its intersection with Kathwood Drive Extension just north of Elberton. The Federal Aviation Administration identified the aircraft as a Super Acro Sport 1.
