Police investigating burglaries, thefts

Elberton Police are investigating a burglary and theft of $3,250 worth of electronics and $300 worth of consumable goods from a residence on Oak Street. According to the police report, the home was reportedly burglarized between noon and 2 p.m. Friday.
Police are also investigating a burglary and theft of $2,500 cash that was reported to have occurred at Norman’s Appliance store on College Avenue during the Labor Day weekend. According to the police report, the forced entry occurred between noon Aug. 31 and 8 p.m. Sept. 3.
The theft of $330 cash and $1,500 worth of other items from the Walmart store on Elbert Street is also under police investigation. The incident report indicated the theft took place between 5:50 and 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
