Severe Weather Sweeps Across Plains; Two Injured in Kansas

Brad Guay(DODGE CITY, Kan.) — Two people were critically injured in Kansas Tuesday evening following severe weather that swirled through the Plains, according to officials.

In a statement issued by the Kansas Adjutant General's Office, the two injured people were taken to Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City. It also said that the storms affected the western and south-central parts of the state.

About 26 tornadoes were reported Tuesday in five different states spanning from Michigan to Texas.

Most of the reported damage so far was just north of Dodge City in Kansas, where a strong tornado appeared to have damaged six homes, according to ABC News' meteorologist Max Golembo.
