Single-Engine Plane Crashes Near the Bahamas

iStock/Thinkstock(FORT LAUDERDALE, ) — A small plane crashed just east of the Haulover Inlet off the coast of Florida Friday morning.

All three of the passengers on board the Cessna 206 have been accounted for and none were seriously injured, according to the United States Coast Guard.

Officials say the Cessna 206 was traveling from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini in the Bahamas when the pilot reported engine problems. The crash occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. ET. Good Samaritans on a yacht near the crash rescued the passengers. The Coast Guard also reported to the scene to provide emergency medical assistance.
