Since Lady Antebellum’s current top-five hit, “You Look Good,” has a distinctive hook that relies on a big horn section, it was a no-brainer for the band to load up the brass for their current world tour.
While it may be an atypical move for a country band, Charles Kelley says adding the horns has bumped up their game.
“I think they've taken the show to a whole new level,” he tells ABC Radio. “You know, we did that because of the single… but we have 'em play on all kinds of our older songs like 'Downtown,' and it really does take it to a new level for us.”
Though it can sometimes be tricky to play less familiar material in concert, Charles also is loving the way Lady A’s fans are embracing the songs from the group's new record, Heart Break.
“It's fun to see… with every week that goes by… as people become more familiar with the album… the more they sing along to all these new songs,” he says. “You know, we're doing 'Heart Break' and 'Good Time to Be Alive' out there, and of course the single… It's just fun to see these songs get such a big reaction…”
This week, Lady A rolls through Dallas and Houston on the You Look Good World Tour.
