Friday night, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood kick off the second of three weekends at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, as they move closer to bringing the North American leg of their World Tour to a close.
“It’s been pretty non-stop, but it’s been great,” Trisha says, looking back on the couple's more than three-year run. “I think we are tired. Garth says we’re tired and wired, because I think we really are tired, but we are really having a great time.”
She adds: “I mean, it’s an experience that I think we all know is special. And so even though it’s coming to an end, this portion of the tour -- we’re not gonna be done, we’re gonna do other things -- I think it’s a little bittersweet, because I think everybody’s really ready for a nap, but at the same time, we’ve really enjoyed it.”
When she’s not supporting her husband on tour, Trisha also has another full-time gig, running a culinary empire that features her Saturday-morning show on Food Network. So what does the host of Trisha’s Southern Kitchen take to a holiday party?
“A lot of people bring sweets to Christmas parties, because everybody’s got a dessert,” Trisha says. “But you know, you’ve got to have something salty. So I’m usually the girl that will bring, like Crock Pot Macaroni and Cheese. It might not scream Christmas to you, but… that’ll be the thing that will be gone -- devoured!”
