"There Was This Girl" becomes Riley Green’s first #1

Big MachineThis week, Riley Green’s first single becomes his first number one, as “There Was This Girl” ascends to the top of the country chart.

“Just want to take a minute and thank everyone for the last year of my life,” he posted on Instagram after getting the news. “To go from framing houses back home to having the NUMBER 1 song in Country music is pretty amazing... and I have all of you to thank for it.”

To illustrate the point, the Alabama native added a throwback photo of himself on a construction site, alongside a shot of him onstage at the Grand Old Opry.

“Thank you to all my fans that have supported me from day one!” Riley added. “No way I can pay everybody back but I hope to see you all out on the road very soon so we can celebrate!!”

Riley’s follow-up to “There Was This Girl” will be his new single, “In Love by Now.”
