(POMPANO BEACH, Fla.) -- A small plane crashed in a suburban neighborhood in Pompano Beach, Florida, Monday afternoon, injuring three people.
The Federal Aviation Administration told ABC News the plane was a Beech BE-76 aircraft. It crashed into a house shortly after departure from Pompano Beach Airpark at about 3 p.m., according to the FAA. The crash occurred in the 900 block area of Harbor Drive, about a mile from the end of the runway where the plane took off.
Three people -- two males, one female -- were on the plane and taken to local hospitals, according to officials. They are listed in serious to critical condition.
Nobody on the ground was injured, Sandra King, a spokeswoman for the city of Pompano Beach, confirmed. She also said it was unclear why the plane crashed in the first place.
Aerial footage showed debris from the crash close to homes, and a part of one house was on fire.
No other information about the crash is immediately available.
