Three Shot at Maryland Mall, Suspect Remains at Large: Police

iStock/Thinkstock(BETHESDA, Md.) -- At least three people were shot at the Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, Maryland, Friday morning, the Montgomery County Police Department said.

The suspect remains at large, according to police.

Police said one person was initially shot after an argument and then two people who came to the victim's aid were also shot.

The victims are two men and one woman. Their conditions were not immediately clear.

Police said they have a person of interest and added that no one is in danger at the mall.

Westfield Montgomery Mall has more than 180 stores and is located about 15 miles north of Capitol Hill.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed in a nearby shooting Friday morning at a Giant grocery store in the Aspen Hill area, about 8 miles away from the mall. It was not immediately clear if the two shootings are related, police said.
