Three shows, one day, two daughters and Miss America, too: Thomas Rhett can handle the "Life Changes"

Valory Music Co. Thomas Rhett kicks off a whirlwind weekend Friday, as he launches Life Changes with three performances in three cities.

“We're calling it Live from the B Stage…” he explains. “On the Home Team Tour, we have this alternate stage out in the crowd that we go do 20 or 30 minutes of songs that we haven't played in forever, whether it's songs off the first record or new songs or songs that I've written for other people… that's always my favorite moment of the set, so we kinda wanted to relive that in three different cities that I felt like kind of gave me my first chance as an artist.”

TR will start the day in Boston, before heading to Philadelphia and Chicago.

“One of my biggest shows I ever played, before I even had any hits, was in Boston...” Thomas recalls. “And then going to Chicago, Joe's Bar was the first bar to ever really give me a chance to come play acoustic, for basically ten people. You know, getting to play in Philadelphia early on really boosted my career.”

You can watch the Windy City show Friday at 8 p.m. ET on TR’s Facebook page.

On Sunday, Thomas Rhett slips into a judge's seat at the Miss America contest.

“That's gonna be interesting...” he smiles, admitting he’s not quite sure what his responsibilities will entail. “I think Cole Swindell did it last year, and then Brett Eldredge has done it before, so [I’m] following in good footsteps… I don't know how much judging is actually involved, but I get to read some questions and get to evaluate the answers.”

You can bet wife Lauren and daughters Willa and Ada will be watching, as the 2018 Miss America Competition starts sunday at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
