The single-engine Cessna plane crashed on a residential street at 7:45 p.m.
Channel 2 Action News has learned the plane is from Florida, and the pilot radioed it was experiencing trouble.
The FAA is investigating wher the plane was headed. The Madison Municipal Airport is about two miles away from the crash site.
A resident who lives in the neighborhood of the crash still can’t believe the plane landed without hurting innocent bystanders.
“It hit the poles, the wire first, before it hit the wires on the telephone pole, slowed it down some I guess. They had them on stretchers,” said witness Kenneth Wyatt.
Authorities believe the plane to Gwinnett County.
The two men inside the plane were transported to Athens Regional Medical Center for treatment.
