William Michael Morgan Sets a Record with His #1 "I Met a Girl"

Warner Music NashvilleThis week, newcomer William Michael Morgan makes history as “I Met a Girl” takes up residence at the top of the country chart. Penned by Sam HuntOld Dominion’s Trevor Rosen and Shane McAnally, the lead single from William Michael’s debut album Vinyl now officially holds the record on the Mediabase chart for the longest climb to number one, taking 49 weeks to land at the top spot.

The 23-year-old Vicksburg, Mississippi, native will celebrate with an appearance on the Opry Country Classics show Thursday at the Ryman Auditorium. Next January, William Michael heads out on the American Made Tour with Justin Moore and Lee Brice.
